Jim's Biography

I am a third generation Colorado native. I love this state, the mountains, snow, incredible mining history and yes all the great ghost stories that I heard from my dad and grandfather as a kid. I graduated with a Physics degree from the University of Colorado Boulder. After college I jumped right into my career as an Aerospace Engineer and concentrated on science and engineering. Over the last 20 plus years I have worked many programs including command and control systems, intelligence systems, satellites, radar receivers and space vehicles. My career has been very interesting and highly technical, but I needed a diversion from all the hard science and engineering to something that has interested me for as long as I can remember... the paranormal. That is why I joined ParaFPI.

Why am I so interested in the paranormal? That is a hard question to answer, but I believe it is because of Scooby Doo. That was my favorite cartoon as a kid and it had a big influence on me. Well not really a big influence, but the idea of hunting for ghosts really drew my interest. I remember as a kid finding ghost books at the library to read and analyze the pictures to see how they were faked. My brother and I would go to graveyards and old mines up in the mountains to do our own investigations. When I graduated from college, career and family life preoccupied my time until 2009 when I joined ParaFPI.

I enjoy investigating the paranormal very much and the ParaFPI team is terrific! Obviously I fall into the technical/science side of paranormal research but I am very envious of those that have a "sixth" sense, and can pick up on things that all the tech gadgetry cannot. I have had many wonderful and interesting experiences as a paranormal researcher, but the part I like the best is helping families feel safe and comfortable in their homes when things they do not understand are happening to them.
