Warning: The status of this location is unknown. At last report, it was being gated off and the owner was upset by the number of visitors to this site.
The stage station of Glendale, with it's handful of dwellings, was settled in 1861. The hostelry was built by John McClure where Red Creek meets Beaver Creek, just east of Penrose. Behind Glendale House, was Glendale Garden, a favorite picnic spot for both locals and visitors. In this garden, on a bright Sunday in the late summer of 1877, Kathleen Cooper met Julian LaSalle, a Virginian on his way to Leadville to seek his fortune. In an instant they fell madly in love and before Julian left the next day on the morning stage, he had secured her promise to marry him when he returned in the spring. The next spring, on the day when Julian was due to return, Kathleen waited anxiously for him to arrive. He never did. The next morning, Julian’s lifeless body was discovered in the weeds just outside of town. He had been robbed and murdered on the South Park road. In the following weeks, Kathleen would not eat, sleep, speak or be comforted. She was sent to live with her aunt and uncle in Canon City, but sadly, her will to live was gone. By autumn, she died quietly in her bed. Since then and to this day, visitors to Glendale Station have often reported the apparition of a bride calling and waving to them. |

This investigation involved members of both ParaFPI and another local group. The investigators noted some spikes on the EMF detectors that did not appear to be related to any typical causes. This led the investigators to believe that the activity was moving around them. There may be more than one active presence in the area, including both Kathleen and Julian who are still searching for each other. Several investigators reported feeling stomach pain, severe nausea, dizziness and uncontrollable weeping.
Regular air temp that evening was +40 degrees, however investigators noted temperature readings as low as -17 degrees in one area. This drop in temperature was noted more than once, by different investigators, with no prior knowledge of the other investigators’ findings. Several investigators reported mists rising around the vehicles. One or more apparitions appearing to take human form were also witnessed. |

At this time we cannot say that the location is haunted. There appears to be some form of energy there. At this time, it is unclear whether it is a ghost or an imprint or a vortex of some kind.
