Bob Harvey of the Gilpin Historical Society hosted tours for Halloween 2002 and 2003 with us in Central City. Bob is, if I may say, the single best tour guide you've ever seen! Not only does he know the history of the entire county, but he's enthusiastic about it all. He LOVES this stuff!!

From an Investigators Log: (At the Belvidere)
"I went to the stage first and looked out toward the audience. I got the most elated sense of joy, almost crying with happiness at a great performance and all the applause. I could almost see the people standing and applauding. I didn't want the moment to end. I then left the stage to go to the balcony stairs, but for some reason suddenly did NOT want to go up them. I did get the mental image of two different women on the stage at different times. One wore a bustle-back dress of the 1880's in apple green and had her hair done up in curls, she was blonde. The other was a brunette (or auburn, hard to tell) with her hair in a Gibson girl-type pile with a burgundy and black lace dress of a tight-waisted style. I got the feeling the woman in green wasn't normally a singer, but the other woman was. As we were all leaving, I felt a great desire to waltz around the open floor in front of the stage."
And another Log reports:
"Felt a lot of energy (emotions) come from the theatre just standing outside of it. On the first floor when you walk in the front door we went to the last room on the left. As soon as I walked in there I felt dizzy. Went upstairs and I again felt dizzy. Across from the stage are steps you can either go left or right down these steps, walking down the right side I felt someone following me. At one point while standing on the floor about 20 feet from the stage I felt as if someone was standing beside me. So much going on there but no specifics.
